In Te Ngahere at Paihia School we have been learning about the artist called Roy Lichtenstein and will be making pop art like he did. Roy Lichtenstein is a pop artist that makes paintings using Ben Day Dots. Roy Lichtenstein used not a lot of colours like other artist at the time did. Roy Lichtenstein made paintings and art of popular things at the time like comics and playing cards. Before he became an artist he began as a Abstract Expressionist painter. The technique I think we’re going to be using for the artwork is the dot technique that he also used. Have you heard about Roy Lichtenstein before?
