Tidying Our Drive

In Te Ngahere we have been learning to tidy our drive. We first watched a video telling us how to clean our drive and how to file stuff but we already knew that. We made a copy of the presentation that the person in the video used to show which doc, slides and google drawing, goes in what folder. We also did the same thing he did then on the next slide we had to take a screenshot of our drive and insert it onto the slide. After that we cleaned our drive by making a personal folder for us to put our personal stuff in and an old stuff folder for us to put our old stuff in. For the untitled ones, we just deleted them and for the ones that are new and we hadn’t filed yet, we just put them in the correct folder. What I thought was easy was when I had to screenshot my drive because I just needed to screenshot it and insert it onto the slide. Is your drive clean?

The Hardest Task I’ve Done So Far

In Te Ngahere we have been doing taskmaster and collaborating in our learning groups. For taskmaster we had to copy the teachers drawing. The drawing had five colors on it. One of us had to to be the drawer and two of us had to be runners. The runners would go outside, one at a time then look at the drawing and specifically tell the drawer what they need to draw.

My group did two attempts but unfortunately I wasn’t here for the first attempt. For the second attempt I was one of the runners but I wasn’t specifically describing the drawing that well. What I thought did not go well was when I was constantly repeating myself, yelling at the drawer as the time was getting closer to zero, making me more anxious and frustrated. What I thought went well was that we were paying attention to small details, for example what line to draw it on and what color it was but there were times where we did not check it properly.

The things I found challenging was when the drawer would ask us something that I did not check so I would have to check again. Our drawing had each thing in the right place but It still wasn’t as accurate as the teachers drawing and we also didn’t have that much time so we didn’t get to draw everything else. I learnt that working and collaborating helps us learn from each other.

The Guide To Create A Food Web

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about food webs. Food webs show you how the energy goes from one organism to the other organism. We had to make a food web on a google drawing. First we had to gather information about what the animals eat. Then we added arrows and we changed the color of the arrows to show what animals eat what food. We put the small food in the middle first then we put the native animals and trees in. After that we then compared the differences between my food web and the teachers food web. We had to write at least 3 differences and I noticed that some of my arrows are not pointing at the right image. There were also supposed to be more arrows. I also noticed that the teachers arrows were different colors while mine were just one color. What I thought was easy was when I had to find differences between mine and the teachers one because I all I needed to do was find the differences and write them down. What I thought was hard was when I had to search for information about each animal because some websites had different information than others so it was hard to find out if it was true or not. I learnt that some animals like the kereru eat a lot more than others and that others only eat on like the kiwi.Have you created a food web before?

Why Mutualism is important

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about mutualism. Mutualism is when two organisms from different species work together. We had to make a DLO about mutualism that shows and tell what each member of the mutualistic relationship do. I learnt that a mutualistic relationship is an interaction between different species that are mostly positive. What I thought was hard was when I had to do a DLO because I didn’t really understand what mutualism was. What I thought was easy was when I needed to write about each member of the mutualistic relationship because I just needed to write what they do. Have you learnt about Mutualism before?

Measurement Facts That You Never Knew About

In Te Ngahere we have been learning and doing measurement. We had to measure pens, desks, bags, erasers, rulers and more. We had to put the object’s 1.2 meters apart or whatever number it told you. The first time we tried measuring 2 pens we did it incorrectly because we did not read the instructions properly and the measurements were not accurate. When we measured the erasers we did it correctly because the first eraser started at zero and the other eraser ended at 1.6 m. What I thought was hard was trying to make sure that the measurements were correct because sometimes we did not read the instructions correctly so the measurements were not accurate. What I thought was easy was recording our measurements because all we needed to do was record it. Have you done measurement before?

Important Facts About Ecosystems That You Never Knew About

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about ecosystems. We had to first make a copy of a doc and write what we already knew about ecosystems. Then we had to read the articles about ecosystems. After that we had to write down what we discovered and write what we now understand. Ecosystems are living things with non living things that are interacting with the systems. What I thought was hard was when I had to write what I know about ecosystems because I couldn’t remember anything about ecosystems so I just wrote “I can’t remember anything”. What I thought was easy was when I had to write what I discovered because I just needed to write facts about ecosystems that I had discovered. Have you heard about ecosystems before?

Tsunami Friday

On Friday last week we had a tsunami drill. At First I ignored the tsunami warning on the news like it was a normal day but then my dad came over and told me that there was a tsunami. I then became terrified because of what I had seen in movies. We packed our things and drove up to the golf course on the hill. I was still scared because I had never witnessed a tsunami before. We met up with my dad’s workers and friends. We sat there talking and waiting for it to be over until we eventually went to eat at the golf club. At this point I started to calm down because it wasn’t like what I thought was gonna happen. After a while we finished and went back to our car and sat there until we were told that we could go. I was trying to sleep until someone told me that we could go home. I was relieved because I was just about to fall asleep and I was very bored. I woke up my dad and we went home. Where were you when it happened?
