How NOT To Get Scammed

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about scams and phishing for the cybersmart challenge. The challenge was to guess if an email, website and pop up was legit or fake. To know if they’re fake or legit we had to look for details like if they asked for private information or if the padlock has a cross. What I found hard was the last one because the pop up said that “we have just detected a virus download now” so I couldn’t tell since most pop ups are fake. What I found easy was the first and second one since the first one ask for private information and the second one was by manaiakalani which is pretty easy to guess if it’s fake or legit. Have you ever gotten pop ups and fake emails before?
